From Big Data toward the Market of Sharp Data - a topic from and beyond Chance Discovery -
SPEAKER Yukio Ohsawa, Professor of Systems Innovation, The University of Tokyo |
ABSTRACT The recent trend of big data is quite relevant to what we achieved in the studies on and applications of chance discovery since 2000 - the discovery of uncertain events that may affect significantly to decision making. Here I first show how the process of communication using KeyGraph (1998) visualizing "sharp" data, collected reflecting the interest of users, guided participants to chance discovery. This process is then positioned as of argumentation for acquiring seeds for innovation, that we interpret as practical creativity in the market. We then show Innovators Marketplace that is a gamification (in the broad sense) of the method above. Based on these results, let us discuss how we can (re)design the market of data, where each user or provider of data can understand the value of each part of data so that data come to be reasonably dealt with, i.e., sold, opened free, or shared after negotiation. |
